Transfer Window shut

Wednesday, September 2, 2009
Well, I guess it wasn't a very eventful final few hours of the transfer window. Although, there were some interesting transfers. Richard Dunne is expected to be a Villa player tomorrow after there was difficulties in the transfer. Niko Kranjcar's move to Spurs is probably the most notable transfer of the day, other than that it was quite dull.

However, you cannot deny its been a fascinating transfer window, especially with big spending Manchester City linked with players nearly every day. The transfer of Ronaldo to Real Madrid is obviously the biggest transfer of the year ( maybe ever ). In England the most expensive signing was Emmanuel Adebayor to City at £25 million.

So the squads are decided until January, where you can expect more drama and surprises.

My top five transfers.
Emmanuel Adebayor- Looks a different player than he was at Arsenal, will prove to be a massive hit.
Thomas Vermaelen- Looks like he could be key in the Arsenal defence
Michael Owen- I think he could prove to be a great addition, especially on a free transfer. He is sure to grab a few goals.
Gareth Barry- Will give the Manchester City attack minded players a lot more freedom, could be key in anything they do and has impressed already this season.
Glen Johnson- Has been excellent for Liverpool so far, can create and score, not to mention he is a rock at the back.
Jozy Altidore- Could be one of the signings of the season for a struggling team. Great power and hes young, too bad hes only on loan.
