Wenger had other things on his mind

Sunday, January 24, 2010

Arsene Wenger's Arsenal went crashing out of the FA Cup to Stoke on Sunday, but after looking at the team Wenger fielded, it is clear to see he has other things on his mind.

Arsenal Wengers team consisted of several young and inexperienced players including Fabianski, Coquelin, Eastmond and Emmanuel Thomas along with handing Sol Campbell his first start.

It is clear by this that the FA Cup is not Arsene Wenger's top priority. Arsenal are currently in a very strong position in the League and are still in the running for the Champions League. They have a lot of tough fixtures coming up including difficult matches in the Premier League against Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Aston Villa, so Wenger was probably looking to rest some key players.

Everyone thinks that this is going to be Arsenal's season to end their trophy drought. Personally I don't think it will be. Its simple, Chelsea and Man United are better and I think one of them will win the Premier League. As for the Champions League, if they meet Chelsea or United along the way I wouldn't back them to win.
