Carrick reckons Rooney can win World Cup for England

Monday, March 15, 2010

Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick reckons Wayne Rooney will score a ridiculous amount of goals at this years World Cup and help England lift the trophy. As everyone knows, Rooney has been quality this season and Carrick reckons he can continue his form into the World Cup.

Its true Rooney will be key for England at the World Cup, and although some people wouldn't like their countries hopes resting on their shoulders Rooney will be keen to do what he can.

"I am sure he will keep his performance level up. Whether he can keep scoring or makes more of them, who knows?''

Personally I can't wait to see Rooney play for England at the World Cup. Hopefully he will continue the way he has been playing recently because if he does its sure to be interesting World Cup. Can England win it? No, not in my opinion, but who knows?

Surely Rooney is in top form but it takes more than a player to win the World Cup.
