The last few minutes of the match between Bayern Munich v Manchester United couldn't have gone worse for the Premier League champions. Leading one nil after the first half, they conceded a soft goal from a free kick. Then, in the later stages of the match Bayern went on to take the lead and in the process of that goal, Wayne Rooney sprained his ankle.
This could not have come at a worse time for United. They play Chelsea on Sunday in what could decide the title. Rooney is definitely out for that game as well the second leg against Bayern in Old Trafford. He is also a major doubt for United's games against Man City and Spurs, two tough games in which they will need their star player.
United haven't been without Rooney for long this season, but now they will need to learn how to cope without their top goalscorer. With Rooney gone Dimitar Berbatov will more than likely be given the role Rooney was occupying. He has big boots to fill.
