Is selling Lampard the right decision?

Monday, January 7, 2013
It may be the right decision financially, but sometimes owners and managers alike need to look at the bigger picture.

I would imagine loyal Chelsea fans are fuming right now. For the best part of 12 years Frank Lampard has been a Chelsea player, and a bloody good one at that.

This however seems to be a new era at Stanford Bridge, bringing in a host of fresh, and young, faces into the squad. No time for poor old Didier Drogba, and it seems now Frank Lampard is the latest to be let go. What an absolute shame.

Lampard looks set to leave

I'm not a Chelsea, nor am I a Lampard fan, but I would have liked to see him finish out his career with Chelsea, as it is clear the club means a lot to him. It would want to after 12 years! Just like United fans want to see Scholes and Giggs end their playing time with Manchester United, and Liverpool fans want to see Steven Gerrard end his playing days at Anfield, I'm nearly positive the die-hard Chelsea fans would wish the same for old Frank.

Youth is useless without experienced faces with a passion for the club - ask Senior Wenger.
