City line up Adebayor

Monday, July 13, 2009

Emmanuel Adebayor's speculation of leaving Arsenal has kicked off today, with Manchester City reported to be in talks with the Gunners over a possible transfer. Adebayor's future has been unclear ever since AC Milan declared their interest last summer, but the Togo international has often committed himself to the North London side.

City have already strengthened their side this transfer window, singing Gareth Barry from Aston Villa, and Paraguayan striker Roque Santa Cruz in a bid to break into the top four, and in my opinion signing Adebayor would be a big step towards this. Although Adebayor has been criticised this season there is no doubt he is a quality striker, as he showed in the 07/08 season scoring 24 goals in the premier league. Along with City signing the lanky striker, they would also be taking out one of Arsenal main goalscoring threats, which would no doubt increase their chance of a Champions league spot next year.

Do you think City should sign Adebayor?
