Robinho dreams of Barca move

Tuesday, September 8, 2009

City striker Robinho has stated that he would love to play for Barcelona someday, a dream which is likely to upset the Man City faithful. Robinho became City's record signing last summer when he arrived from Real Madrid for £32.5 million. He enjoyed a good first season in Manchester, and finished the campaign as City's top scorer and quickly became a fan favourite.

The Brazilian ace was linked with the Catalans during the summer, but after they splashed out on Zlatan Imbrahimovic a move for Robinho didn't happen. Robinho is apparently desperate for a move back to Spain and after Barcelona's interest this summer I wouldn't rule out a bid in January.

"It's not easy to say no to a team like Barcelona''.

I can see how the prospect of playing for the best team in the world would be exciting for Robinho but I'm not so sure it would be the right move. With the transfer funds City have at their disposal, who knows, maybe the likes of Messi and Xavi could be playing in blue in the future. A very unlikely prospect , but City are a team on the up and Robinho would in my opinion, be a fool to leave.
