Celtic and Rangers staying in Scotland

Thursday, November 12, 2009

Scottish giants Celtic and Rangers have been denied the chance to play in the English Premier League. A proposal had been made to let Celtic and Rangers join the Premier League, but the proposal was seen as neither ''desirable or viable.''

The news will come as a blow to Rangers, who announced a staggering £31 million debt within the club. Obviously a move to the Premier League would have helped this, given the fact they would receive massive TV rights compared to playing in Scotland.

To be honest I think it would be interesting to see how Rangers and Celtic fair if they were to be put in the Premier League. I think it would take them a while to adapt as clearly the English Premier League is of far higher quality than the Scottish Premier division. I couldn't see either club making the top six, Arsenal, Man Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool ( most of the time ), Manchester City, Sunderland and Aston Villa are better teams in my opinion.
