Neville takes a swipe at Liverpool's Champions League exit

Thursday, November 26, 2009

Manchester United full-back Gary Neville has rubbed salt into open wounds today as he launched an attack on Liverpool saying they got what they deserve. As we all know, Liverpool failed to make it out of the group stages and will know have to settle for the Uefa Cup.

Liverpool are in a crisis at the moment, their win against Debreceni was their first win in a long time, and even then it wasn't a very convincing performance. As if not making the knockout stage in Europe's biggest domestic tournament was bad enough, they have lost a number of points in the Premier League and currently lie in 7th, 13 points of leaders Chelsea.

''We are where we are because we deserve to be there and it's the same with Liverpool''.

Now Gary Neville is a very well respected players who has won many trophies in his time, but I don't know why a players who has fallen off the pace dramatically over the past few years can criticise a team who are going through a slump. Personally, I think Neville should concentrate on his own game rather than having a go at others.

I don't know why Neville always feels the need to go on about other clubs, he's always sticking his ore in where it's not wanted!
