Wenger wants Dzeko to save Arsenal

Thursday, December 3, 2009

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is apparently chasing Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko in a bid to rekindle their title hopes. Wenger's striker force has been lacking goals since the injury to key striker Robin Van Persie and Wenger will be keen to add Dzeko to his ranks.

Dzeko is currently one of the most wanted strikers in Europe. He scored and impressive 36 goals for Wolfsburg last season and already this season he has 13 goals to his name. It seems Wenger will have to smash the clubs transfer record thought, as it is thought Dzeko will not leave for anything less than £17.5 million.

Dzeko isn't Wenger's only target thought. Bordeaux strike Marouane Chamakh is a known target of Wenger's and he is likely to bid for one of the two. Meanwhile, want-away defender Phillipe Senderos is set to leave to club and head for Spain to link up with Athletico Madrid in a fee in and around £4 million.

Personally, I would love to see Dzeko at Arsenal. At 6ft, hes exactly what Arsenal need. Strong in the air and scores goals for fun, exactly what Arsenal lack at the moment.
